Jerry Blackwelder

Jerry Robert Blackwelder, 77 years of age, of Concord, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Pruitt Health in Harrisburg.
Jerry was born December 2, 1938 in Cabarrus county to the late Jacob Robert Blackwelder and the late Ella Lucille Smith. He was also preceded in death by his son Jerry "Robbie" Blackwelder Jr.
Jerry worked as a manager at Westport Containers in Charlotte, although his lifelong joy and passion was farming. He was a veteran of the Korean war serving in the United States Army.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 29 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Church Sanctuary at Roberta United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jim Church officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy (Tim) Wilkes and Karen (Ernie) Harrington; son, Jason (Kimberly) Blackwelder: two grandchildren, Daniel Harrington and Meghan Wilkes; two sisters, Doris (Mike) Burris and Jean (Casey) Crabill.
