Jerry Wayne Calloway, 78 years of age, of Concord, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at his home.
Jerry was born April 3, 1938 in North Concord to the late Charles William Calloway and the late Annie Verbel Calloway. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Brown; three brothers, Ralph, Gene, and Leonard Calloway; and two sisters, Margaret DeArmon and Ruby Kellough.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm, Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home chapel, officiated by Rev. Donald Lisk. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Hooks Calloway of Concord; three sons, Johnny (Camille) Sain of China Grove, Wallace (Pam) Sain of Concord, and Leon (Lynn) Sain of Concord, three daughters, Terri (Doodle) Shoemaker of Concord, Kim Sain of China Grove, and Keriette (Jay) Lambert of Concord; sister, Doris (A.T.) Brown; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Jerry was a graduate of Concord High School and proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force. He retired after 41 years of service from the Concord Telephone Company. He loved to spend time fishing on the lake.
