Jerry Cook

Jerry Melvin Cook, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 with his faithful canine companion, Lulu, by his side. Jerry was born in Cabarrus County to the late Charles Melvin Cook and Lilyan Helton Cook. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Joyce Fudge Cook; daughter Leah Paraschiv and her husband, Andrei; sister Meeka Cook and niece, Remy Cook; brother-in-law Neal Fudge and wife Mary; niece Nicole Eudy and husband, Dale; niece Elizabeth Miller and husband, Joshua; nephew Jonathan Fudge and wife Paige, and great-nephew Brentley.

In addition to his family, Jerry loved animals of all kinds. He was a life-long admirer of nature and enjoyed vacationing in the Blue Ridge mountains on the New River, as well as family trips to Oak Island. He liked astronomy and science fiction. He was a collector of vintage cameras and telescopes, lanterns, and mid-20th century memorabilia.

A graveside service for the family, officiated by Pastor Carrie Bishop of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Concord on Friday, March 31st at 2:30pm. The family will receive friends at their home in Mt. Pleasant following the service.
