Jerry Holt

Jerry Dale Holt, 75, of New London, passed away in his sleep Friday, November 17, 2017 at his home, with his wife by his side.

Jerry was born February 24, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Paul Alfred Holt and the late Helen Ramelle Lefler Holt.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Immanuel Baptist Church of Albemarle. The funeral service celebrating his life will follow at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Joe Smith and his close friend Harold Walker. The burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 East Main Street, Albemarle. Military Honors will be conducted by the Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12 and by the NC National Guard Honor Guard. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Patricia Ann Staton Holt of the home; son, Jason Holt of Matthews; daughter, Annah Furr and husband Terry of Albemarle; and three grandchildren.

Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Jerry was a barber and was owner and operator of Z-Flair Barber Shop off of Hwy. 52 for 41 years. He was dedicated to singing gospel music and performing magic shows for the elderly at nursing homes. He was a lifelong Tarheel basketball fan.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Stanly County and the Uwharrie, and all other medical professionals who provided support and care along the way.
