Jerry Tallent

Jerry Riley Tallent, Sr., age 75, of Concord, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, September 16, 2017.

Jerry was born February 12, 1942 in Concord to the late Martin and Elsie Tallent. He was also preceded in death by seven brothers; one sister; and grandson, Gabriel Spears.

Jerry was a member of Victory Temple Church of Concord for years. He was a good friend to so many and he helped in times of need, more than we will ever know. Even his illness couldn't hold him back. Jerry was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Those left to treasure Jerry's memory include beloved wife of 25 years, Sharon Tallent of the home; son, Jerry Riley Tallent, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; son, Brian (Trish) Spears of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Tereasa Nelson of Bradenton, FL; "daughter," Cindy (Steve) Wilson of Concord; brother, James (Carolyn) Tallent of Easley, SC; three grandchildren, Joey and Abby Spears and Kaylee Tallent; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Hearts are broken, but the family finds comfort knowing Jerry is in the loving arms of Jesus.

Services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Drive, Concord. The family will receive friends from 12 -1:45 pm. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Gary Posey, and Rev. Garland Faw. Burial will follow the service at the Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, 3892 Hwy 73 E, Concord.

Memorials may be made to Victory Temple Building Fund.
