Jerry Taylor

Mr. Jerry Vernon Taylor, passed away November 17, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. The family will receive friends at Pitts Baptist Church, 140 Pitts School Rd., Concord, Tuesday, November 20, 2012 form 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 12:30. Burial will take place at the Pitts Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Taylor was born December 10, 1935, in Matthews to the late John and Georgia Taylor. He was an active member of Pitts Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and in the Men’s Choir. He was also active in Gideon’s International Cabarrus West Camp. In addition to his patents, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his brother Douglas Taylor. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth “Lib” Montgomery Taylor; daughters, Linda Taylor Barbee and Angela Taylor Rogers and her husband Sam; grandchildren, Tanya Barbee Porter and husband Telzy, Jason Scott Barbee and wife Heather, Lindsey Rogers English and husband Michael, Aaron Seth Rogers; brothers, John Taylor and wife Charlene, Bill Taylor and wife Patty; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. He was loved by all. Memorials may be made to Pitts Baptist Building Fund, 140 Pitts School Rd., Concord, NC 28027 or to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 3043, Concord, NC 28026.
