Jerry Thompson, Sr

Jerry Wayne Thompson, Sr., 77 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his home in Albemarle.

Jerry was born April 23, 1937 in Stanly County to the late Rev. Lewis "Bill" Melton Thompson and the late Molly Mae Morton Thompson. He served his country in the US Army National Guard, and was the owner/operator of the Thompson & Son Beef Processing Plant.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1309 Old Charlotte Road, Albemarle, NC 28001 preceded by a 30 minute state. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.

Survivors include son, Jerry Wayne Thompson Jr. and wife, Julie; granddaughter, Meagan Thompson of New London; and special friend, Connie Brown.
