Mr. Jerry Wayne Honeycutt formerly of Charlotte, NC died January 5, 2023 at the Haven - Custead Hospice Care Center, Orange Park, Florida. Mr. Honeycutt was born in Concord, NC on July 19, 1947 to the late David Vane and Pattie Whitley Huneycutt.
He attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools and graduated from East Meck. in 1965. Mr. Honeycutt was a Naval veteran and was employed in sales and trucking for much of his career. Mr. Honeycutt enjoyed nature, studying nutrition and spending time with his family. He was baptized into the Worldwide Church of God in 1986 and attended the Living Church of God in Jacksonville, Fl. for the past two years. Though he enjoyed living in Florida the past number of years he wanted to return “home” to North Carolina to rest along with other family members awaiting their resurrection!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheri Duerden and siblings, Melvin Huneycutt and Dianna Honeycutt.
Mr. Honeycutt is survived by a daughter, Sandi Bross (Jason); sons, Matthew Scott and Adam Avery (Samantha); three grandchildren, Aurora, Amelia and Archer. Also surviving are his siblings, Patricia Stegall, Kay Combs, Gayle Marsh (Woody), Debra Hartsell, Charles Honeycutt (Cindy), Kenneth Huneycutt (Cheryl) and Patty Ferguson (Heath).
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Mr. John Strain. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Cemetery at 20415 Hwy. 24/27 West, Oakboro.
