Jesse (JW) Wayne Austin, Jr.

Jesse Wayne Austin Jr. (JW) 75 of Albemarle NC was called home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2024.

JW was born June 29, 1948 in Cabarrus County NC to the late Jesse Wayne Austin Sr. and the late Idell H Austin.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Aquadale Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:00 pm officiated by Pastors Mark Little and Jerry Morton. Burial will follow at the church cemetery at 32871 Church Rd, Norwood.

JW leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Ginger B Austin of Albemarle, NC. He is also survived by his son, Jeffrey W. Austin of Eatonville, Washington; Daughter-in-law, Debbie Austin; granddaughter, Mia I Austin; grandson, Ricky Velasquez; daughter, Melissa A McGriff of Newnan, Georgia; Son-in-law, Peter McGriff; sister, Joyce Furr of Oakboro, NC; brother, Terry Austin of Midland, NC and his sister Teresa Hughes of Denton, NC.

JW was actively involved in the church, serving in many roles through the years including Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, choir member, and a leader of the RA's. He was a kind soul and friendly to everyone. He dropped everything to help others in need. He loved the Lord, his family and College Football, and especially Duke basketball. A beloved Husband and Father who was loved by many and will be missed immensely.
