Jesse Owens

Jesse Lee Owens, 70, of Albemarle, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Mr. Owens was born October 11, 1951 to the late Fred Junior and Annie Simpson Owens. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred Odell Owens; sisters, Betty Lou Owens, Pearlene Owens; sister-in-law, Millie Owens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. David Sanders. Burial will follow at the White Crest Baptist Church Cemetery, 1051 River Rd., Mount Gilead, NC.

Jesse is survived by his daughters, Mary (Becky) Rominger, Martha (Jason) Umberger, son; Dakota Hill; granddaughter, Marley Burgos; brother, Garry Owens, sisters; Margaret Owens, Marlene (David)  Hartsell,  Claudine Owens, Ann Owens.

Special nephews;  Johnny (Shakria) Owens, Dewayne Owens, Mike Eudy, Junior Owens and Terry Rabon; and many other nieces and nephews.

He loved ALL his family unconditionally.
