Jessie Lowder

Jessie Lowder, age 81 of 2003 Monza Drive, Albemarle, passed away on July 4, 2012 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Thursday, July 5 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Tabernacle United Methodist Church on Friday, July 6, at 4:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Robert Cauble and Rev. Jim Yow. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory. At other times, the family will meet at her home. Mrs. Lowder was born in Stanly County on January 5, 1931, to the late Mathew Barbee and the late Annie Alma Herlocker Barbee. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Allene Sides, Pauline Mills and Estelle Dayon; and one brother, Jay Dee Barbee. She is survived by her husband, Hoyle Luther Lowder; one daughter, Brenda Lowder Callicutt and her husband Jerry of Albemarle; one son, Reggie Lowder and his companion Kelly of Huntersville; four grandchildren, Jeremy Callicutt and his wife Sarah of Albemarle, Jason Callicutt and his wife Angie of Oakboro, Jake Lowder and his wife Dana of Greensboro and Nicole Layden and her husband Justin of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Carter Caroline Taylor and Jake Callicutt and Lyles Layden; three sisters, Grace Hatley, Edna Gibson and Annie “Boots” Lambert; one brother, Jimmy Barbee. Memorials may be made to Community Homecare and Hospice, 533 S. Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Lowder family.
