Jewel Morton

Jewel Kathleen Talbert Morton, 89 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Mrs. Morton was born November 9, 1926 to the late Alexander and Thelma Thomas Talbert. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Clinton Morton; son, Steven Morton; brother, Dolan Talbert; sister, Helen Chandler, and stepmother, Virginia Talbert. Jewel was an active member of Anderson Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed many roles throughout the years with them.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday at 11:00 am at Anderson Grove Baptist Church in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Ron Honeycutt. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include: daughters, Brenda Bristow and husband Clyde, Jr.of Clemmons and Louise M. Waller and husband Michael of Greensboro; son, Rodney Morton and wife Sally of Holly Springs; brother, Alton Talbert and wife Ruby of Newport News, VA; 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
