Jimmie Eudy

May 11, 1936 — March 7, 2014

Jimmie Lacey Eudy, 77, passed away the morning of March 7, 2014 at his Midland home. He was surrounded by his devoted wife and three children. Jim was a lifelong resident of the Midland community where he spent his early years on the family farm. This is where he developed a love for tractors. In his later years he enjoyed raising hay and other farm chores, accomplished with the help of his ten grandchildren. He graduated from Bethel High School and served as a member of the Army National Guard. After his service, he went on to have a successful career as owner of Midway Music Company, through which he provided and serviced amusement games to locations throughout the Charlotte area. He enjoyed many good times with his family and friends; including family vacations, rounds of golf, ball games and many hunting adventures, especially quail hunts with his trusted bird dogs. A lifelong NASCAR fan, he looked forward to racing season. Jim was gifted with a special ability to fix anything and always shared his opinion of how others should maintain their things. He will be greatly missed for the things he did on a daily basis for his family. Jim instilled a work ethic in his family that carries on today. He was never found without a task underway or one in the works. Clear Creek Baptist Church was where he attended in his early years. He and his wife Delette raised their family at Love’s Grove United Methodist Church, where they are members. The care he received during his illness from each member of his family was a true testament of their love and respect for him as a husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. Jim leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Delette Bost Eudy; his children, Susan Walters of Concord, Patrick Eudy (Bonnie), and Paul Eudy (Mendy), all of Midland, Sonia Jill Eudy (deceased); grandchildren, Laura, Blair, Jacob, Malayna, Jillian,Christiana, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Jack and Isabella; two brothers, Evan Eudy (Nell) of Mint Hill, Reade Eudy (Carolyn), of Concord; two sisters, Alice Lee of Charlotte and Janet Furr of Midland. In addition to his daughter, Jim was pre-deceased by his parents, Mack and Lillie Eudy; his brother, Roger Eudy and his sister, Clara Phillips. A service of praise and celebration of Jim’s life will be held Monday, March 10 at Love’s Grove United Methodist Church in Stanfield, NC. Visitation at the church will begin at 2:30pm. The service will begin at 4pm, conducted by Reverend Jim White. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Love’s Grove Building Fund, P.O. Box 276, 4360 Polk Ford Road, Stanfield, NC 28163. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Eudy family.
