Jimmie Furr

Jimmie Wayne Furr, 14 years old of Mint Hill, went to heaven on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews. Born January 12, 1999 in Cabarrus County, Jimmie was a 7th grader at Mint Hill Middle School. He was known for his sense of humor, free spirit and kind heart. He attended Elevation Church of Charlotte. Having a strong faith in Christ, Jimmie was a very loving young man. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Avenue, Midland NC 28107. The memorial service will be at 7 p.m. in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tony Kirby. Survivors include his mother, Diana Furr, and her companion, Danny Brown; his father, Jon Furr of Charlotte; his brother, Jonny Furr, of the home; his sisters, Jessica Furr and Alecia Furr, both of Charlotte; his maternal grandparents, Jimmie Dillard and Mary Kathryn “Kaki” Dillard, of Midland; his paternal grandfather, Richard Furr of Charlotte; his niece, Trinity Jordan; his maternal aunt, Heidi Brown (James); and his paternal uncles, Richard Furr (Frances), Tim Furr (Kelly), Darryl Furr (Wendy), and Josh Furr (Caiti). He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lynda Furr, and a dear friend, “Uncle” Hugh Gilbert.
