Jimmy L. Hendrix, 72, of Concord, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 with family by his side.
Jim was born January 25, 1945 in Tampa, Florida to the late Jacob B. and Lillie Mae Hendrix. He was also preceded in death by his son, William "Billy" Hendrix; and sister, Betty Jean Jones.
Jim was proud to be a retired veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church, Charlotte, and Southern Piedmont Woodturners, Concord.
Those left to cherish Jim's memory include beloved wife of 24 years, Judy Hendrix; son, Henrik (Myra) Brunn; son, Anders (Patti) Brunn; daughter, Michelle "Shelly" (Dwight) Wood; son, Michael (Melanie) Hendrix; daughter, Amanda (Michael) Aldridge; daughter, Karen (Dwayne) Davis; brother, Lee B. (Brenda) Hendrix; nine grandchildren, Erik, Heather, Mason, Emilie, Hadley, London, Noah, Luke, and Dominic; and one great-granddaughter, Miley.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 13, 2017 from 6 to 9 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. The funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord Chapel, officiated by Pastors Keith Kannenberg and Albert C. Johnston, Sr. Jim will be laid to rest with military honors immediately following the service at Brookhill Memorial Garden, 8675 Hwy 52, Rockwell. The funeral procession will be escorted by the North Carolina Patriot Guard.
