Mr. Jimmy Curtis Lowder, Jr.age, 76 of 32024 Kendalls Church Rd, New London, NC passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at his home. He was born September 18, 1933 in Stanly County, NC. He was a Dye Technician with Fieldcrest Cannon and a member of Kendalls Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jimmy Curtis Lowder, Sr. and Anna Goodman Lowder. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Tomberlin Lowder; daughter, Jennie Thompson and husband Donald of New London, NC; two stepsons, Rick Collins and wife Cathy of New London, NC; Kevin Collins and wife Misty of Asheville, NC; 1 step daughter, Connie Furr and husband Michael of New London, NC; 1 brother, Tom Lowder of Mt. Pleasant, NC and 1 sister, Mildred Stone of Monroe, NC; ten grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, December 18, 2009 from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Kendalls Baptist Church in New London., NC. with a 30 minute state. Rev. Chris Foxx, pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Stanly Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to: Kendalls Baptist Church, 32157 Kendalls Church Rd, New London, NC 27127. The family will meet at his home.
