Jimmy Lee Mesimer, Sr., 68, of Stanfield, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010, at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC. Mr. Mesimer was born July 16, 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Ashby Mesimer and Mary M. Mesimer; sister, Frances Morris; and grandson, Brandon Mesimer. He was a maintenance worker for Celanese Inc. in Charlotte and a member of New Life Church at Locust, NC. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 30, 6 – 8:00 p.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. At other times, the family will meet at his home. The funeral service will be Thursday, July 1, 2:00 p.m., with a 30 minute state, at New Life Church, Brown Hill Road, Locust. Rev. Brandon Bowers and Dr. Steve Sells will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. Survivors include his wife, Claudia Furr Mesimer of the home; sons, Jimmy Lee Mesimer, Jr. of Wilmington, Ricky Lee Mesimer of Mint Hill; daughters, Stephanie Lee Mesimer of Albemarle, Kimberlee Ellen Mullis of Locust, and Mary Allison Mesimer of Stanfield; brother, Don Mesimer of Albemarle; sisters, Jean Dale of Morganton, Katherine Lowder of Albemarle, Faye Teal of Kannapolis, and Julia Plott of Concord; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
