Jimmy Ray Whitley, Sr., age 64, of Midland, N.C., died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at his home - 9751 Troutman Road in Midland, N.C. Whitley, Sr. was employed by Sears as a mechanic. Box 100, Midland, NC 28107 c/o Jimmy Ray Whitley, Sr. He Served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was the son of the late J. V. Whitley and J.V. (Burris) Whitley. He is survived by his wife Janice Elaine (Lisenby) Whitley; Two Daughters, Daughter-Shelly (Whitley) Cochran of Stanfield, N.C. Daughter-Jo Ann Carroll of Concord, N.C. Two Sons, Son-Kenneth Wayne Whitley of Midland, N.C. Son-Jimmy Ray Whitley, Jr. of Belmont, N.C. Twelve grandchildren One great-grandchild He is also preceded in death by his sister Della Mae Whitley. Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Midland, PO Box 100, Midland, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, June 29, 2009. Funeral service will be at Hartsell Funeral Home - Midland at 11:00 AM Monday, June 29, 2009 , Rev. Ray Helms Rev. Kevin Ford officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery in Kannapolis, N.C.
