Jimmy "Diamond Jim" Ray Morgan, 67, of Concord, entered Heaven's gates on May 11, 2022, at his home in Concord, NC.
He was born on February 14, 1955, to the late Johnny and Mary Swinson Morgan in Concord, NC.
Jim is survived by his loving daughter, Mallory Caudle (Jensen) of Harrisburg, NC; son, Phillip Morgan; three sisters, Peggy Allmon, Brenda Hopkins, Linda Bullaboy; brother, Johnny Morgan; a host of nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by his three precious grandchildren Benjamin, Keddrick and Ayana Caudle who he spoiled and completely adored.
He was preceded in death by siblings William "Bill" Morgan and Betty Gibson. He was also preceded in death by the love of his life, Deborah Whaley Morgan, whom he could not wait to rejoin in Heaven.
Jim graduated from Mount Pleasant High school in 1973 where he was given his basketball nickname, Diamond Jim. He went on to college at Western Carolina and graduated from UNC Charlotte in 1977. Days after graduating, Jim began his real estate career by joining his brother Bill's firm which later became known as Morgan Realtors. He continued as owner of the firm alongside daughter Mallory. Jim was a well-known and beloved pillar of the real estate community in Cabarrus County. An active member of the Central Carolina Association of Realtors for over 40 years and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Jim was regarded as one of the most honest, humble, and caring professionals in his industry. Apart from his career, Jim loved to spend his time watching Duke basketball, Jeopardy, Seinfeld, listening to classic vinyl albums and James Taylor. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and looked forward to seeing his grandchildren as often as possible. He attended Mount Carmel Baptist Church weekly and was devoted to his faith and to privately serving others. Although he will be greatly missed by all his loved ones, Jim was eager to be reunited with his wife, family, and to meet his Savior.
