Jo Anne McAbee

Jo Anne McAbee, 70, of Locust, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Jo Anne was born August 10, 1954 in South Carolina to the late Joseph Daniel McAbee and the late Mary Ellen Nicholson McAbee. 

A graveside service will be on Thursday at 1:00 pm at Love's Grove Methodist Cemetery located at 4360 Polk Ford Rd., Stanfield NC, officiated by Reverend Patrick Ledford.

Jo Anne was a faithful friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and with her impeccable memory, she would never forget you. She was a kind, calm natured Christian woman who only spoke kindly of others. Jo Anne's two dogs, Abigail and Abby were her faithful companions who she absolutely adored. She loved her church and church family. Having never been married, she was able to joyfully and wholly devote her entire heart to the Lord whom she loved and worshipped. Jo Anne spent nearly 30 years working with children whom she cared for greatly. Her ability to connect with children who required special attention enabled her to serve her Lord and her community in outstanding ways. Her passing is a deep wound for the community, but all who knew her can find comfort in knowing that she is now in her Lord's arms for now and forever. 

Survivors include friends, Millie and Ronnie Smith; their son, Chad; and their grandchildren, Jake and Greyson.
