Jo Ann Furr, 78 years of age, of Concord, NC passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016.
Jo Ann was born December 30, 1937 in Concord, NC to the late Ollie Sea Furr and the late Annie Bell Furr. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Kema Jo Furr and Barbara Furr Childers.
Survivors include her daughter, Trena Staton and husband Terry; sister, Becky Furr McRorie and husband Bill; as well as her brother, Jerry Furr.
Jo Ann was a world traveler and a history buff. She loved studying about the places she visited, as well as the local history of Concord. She spent 34 years working at Shoney's Restaurant in Concord, where she took care of her customers in her own special way. Jo Ann volunteered at the local Salvation Army where she enjoyed making and distributing favors to nursing homes. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Friday, November 18, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord, officiated by Rev. Duane Melton of Bethpage United Methodist Church. Burial will then follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.
Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary.
