JoAnn McAnulty Garmon

JoAnn McAnulty Garmon, 83, of Concord, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 16, 2024 at her residence in Concord with her loving husband by her side.

Mrs. Garmon was born October 31, 1940 in Concord, North Carolina, the only child born to the late Zeanus White McAnulty and the late Mary Lee Ritchie McAnulty. 

Mrs. Garmon was known in the Concord community as the "pool lady" as she was one of the owner and operator of Cabarrus Pool Supply Company for many years. Throughout their marriage, Mrs. Garmon and her husband, John, enjoyed extensive traveling which included numerous cruises and trips abroad to London and Paris. Mrs. Garmon was an active member of He's Alive church in Kannapolis, NC. She was an avid reader of scripture, fiction novels and loved a spirited game of Scrabble with anyone who dared to play her!

Survivors include husband, John Sherrill Garmon of Concord, NC; daughter, Pamela Selzer and husband, Cary of Pineville, NC; son, Randall Garmon of Concord, NC and her four beloved grandchildren; Hannah Rickard of Charlotte, NC, Ashlyn Rickard of Pittsburgh, PA, Gray Rickard of Tempe, AZ and Cory Garmon.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Friday, September 20, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord and be officiated by Rev. Mark Carnes . Burial will follow at the Howells Baptist Church Cemetery at 3800 Baptist Lane, Concord.
