Joconnie "Connie" Christie

Jo’Connie Ann Cook Christie was born July 13, 1954 and crossed into eternity on April 15, 2023.
Born in Charlotte to Wilbur Arlie and Emma Estelle Johnson Cook, Connie and her husband of
50 years, Gary, made their home and life together in Concord.

Connie was a beloved wife, mama, Mammaw, aunt, sister, and friend. Her heart was to take
care of everything and everyone around her…her family, her home, even the flowers and birds
in her yard. She cherished what the good Lord gave her to love and provide for, always serving
others before herself.

Whether planting in the garden, taking in a stray animal, enjoying a visiting cardinal, or crafting
a new project, her home was her palace and all were welcome. She loved nothing more than to
cook a hearty meal for a house full, and those close to her knew they had a place in her heart
and in her home whenever they needed it. She loved her people without abandon or condition,
and she will be missed beyond words by everyone she held dear.

Connie is survived by her husband, Gary, her son, Todd, and daughter, Lindy, three grandsons,
Drew and fiancé Hayly, Blaze, and Cash, and her brother, Mike Cook.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The family will receive
visitors in Saturday, April 29th from 12pm - 2pm, followed by a memorial service. Flowers are
welcome. Please come in clothes that feel comfortable to you, just as Connie would have
wanted.
