Joe Carpenter

Joe Len Carpenter, 76 years of age, of Norwood, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.

Mr. Carpenter was born August 13, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Walter Bruce Carpenter and the late Opal Hill Carpenter. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Smith.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Saturday , January 6, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Jeff Springer. Burial will follow the service at the Big Lick Baptist Church Cemetery at 626 Big Lick Road, Oakboro.

Survivors include wife of 57 years, Patsy Carpenter of the home; son, Randy Carpenter of Norwood daughter, Jennifer Carpenter of Oakboro; grandchildren, Hannah Trainer and husband Callum and Abigail Funderburk; and brothers, Larry Carpenter and Glenn Carpenter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County and the Uwharrie, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 and Alzheimer's Association Western Chapter 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
