Joel Efird

Joel Lee Efird, 57, of Locust, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 22, 2021.

Joel was born May 5, 1964 in Stanly County to the late William Clayton Efird and Vallie Broadway Efird.  He was also preceded in death by sister, Joyce Efird and an infant grandbaby.

A private service will be held for family.  Joel will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.

Joel was a loving husband and father of three.  He worked in textiles and graduated from West Stanly High School, class of 1982.  Joel was very talented and enjoyed working with his hands.  He was a jack of all trades.  Joel had a good and funny sense of humor.  He was easy to get along with and never met a stranger.  Joel was very neighborly and was thankful to have good neighbors.

Survivors include beloved wife of 36 years, Pamela Collins Efird of Locust; daughter, Becky Efird Tidd and husband, Jeff Tidd, Jr. of GA; son, Jessie Efird of Rockwell; daughter, Amy Efird of Locust; brother, William Efird and wife, Valerie, of Concord; grandson, Jeffrey Tidd, III; niece, Tammy Efird of SC; nephew, Devin Efird and fiancée, Melina Sears, of OH; nephew, Billy Efird of PA; 5 great nieces and nephews; 3 great-great nieces and nephews; uncle, Wade Broadway and wife, Phyllis, of Concord; uncle, C.T. Broadway and wife, Peggy, of Concord; aunt, Margie Efird of Stanfield; aunt, Linda Braswell and husband, Fred, of Charlotte; and aunt, Sue Broadway of Concord.
