Joel Kerley

Joel Lynn Kerley, 54 years of age, of Kannapolis, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016.
Joel was born January 11, 1962 in Concord, NC to the late Thomas Kerley and the late Shirley Carter Kerley.
In additon to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Lynn Kerley in 1994.
Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Kay Bollinger and husband Gary of Rockwell; Jessica Laine Williams and husband Robert of Milliken, CO; and Madison Taylor of Kannapolis; grandchildren Hunter and Shyann Bollinger, and Luke, Rachel and Rebekah Williams; sisters, Teresa Caudle and Lena Troutman; brothers, Tim Kerley and Matt Kerley; nieces Emily, Hannah and Katie; and wife, Vida Aryee.
Joel proudly served in the United States Army from 1982 to 1986. He worked for the City of Kannapolis for many years. In his spare time Joel loved to cook and watch the Tar Heels. He also made several mission trips to Africa to help provide food to orphan children. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A graveside funeral service will take place on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00pm, officiated by Rev. Tim Newton at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 73 in Concord, with full military honors.
