John Baucom

John Kenneth Baucom, 81, of Monroe, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018 at Novant Health-Presbyterian Medical Center in Charolotte.

Mr. Baucom was born January 5, 1937 in Union County to the late Charlie Cleveland Baucom and the late Ora Rushing Baucom. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Thurlow Baucom and Jim Baucom, and a sister, Letha Greene.

Mr. Baucom was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

The family will receive friends from  6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Second Advent Christian Church, 6804 Morgan Mill Road in Monroe officiated by Pastor Josh Smith and Pastor Brent Carpenter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include wife, Minnie Baucom of the home; son, Kenny Baucom and fiance Robin; daughter, Trenda Herring and husband Rick; grandchildren, Tiffany, Kyle, Bethany, and Riley; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Bennett Baucom, Dennis Baucom; and a sister, Joy Baucom.
