John Bowers

John Monroe Bowers, 65, of Red Cross, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Sunday, December 30, 2012, from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Garry Baker, will be held at Red Cross Baptist Church, Oakboro on Monday, December 31, 2012, at 2:00 pm. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Red Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Mr. Bowers was born on September 20, 1947, to the late Loys Preston and the late Lillie Mae Bowers. John is survived by two loving daughters,Trish Morgan and husband Kevin of Oakboro and Tracy Efird of Oakboro; his former wife, Susan Cay Bowers of Land O Lakes, WI; a brother, Lee Bowers and wife Nancy of Richfield; eight grandchildren and a great grandchild. He was the owner and operator of Eudy’s Garage for 30 years. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North 1st Street ,Albemarle, NC 28001.
