John Brooks, Sr

Mr. John Bunyan Brooks age 81 of 145 Union Street North Concord, NC passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center. Born on December 10, 1927 in Cabarrus County to the late Roland Alexander Brooks and the late Beatrice (Green) Brooks. Mr. Brooks was a retired Director of NC Law Enforcement A.L.E. He was a charter member of The State Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police, and attended Concord A.R.P. Church. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 1 PM until 1:45 PM. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel Concord on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 2 PM, with the Rev. Mark McClamrock officiating. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Plaza Mausoleum in Kannapolis. Survived By: wife, Betty P. Brooks of the home; son, John Brooks, Jr. and wife Tawana of Concord, NC; daughters, Susanne Honeycutt and husband Johnny of Charlotte, NC; and Betsy B. Walker of Charlotte, NC; brother, Carroll Brooks of Concord, NC; sister, Eloise White of Stanfield, NC; five grandsons; and three great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Concord A.R.P.
