John Colson

John Marvin Colson, 67, of 38843 Quincy Road, Albemarle, died September 28, 2009, at Stanly Regional Medical Center. The graveside service is at 11 am Thursday, October 1, at Fairview Memorial Park, with Rev. Robert Fisher officiating. The family will meet at the home. Born March 30, 1942, in Norwood, he was the son of the late Robert Glenn and Ilene Lemmons Colson. He was a retired carpenter and was self-employed in Albemarle. Mr. Colson was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Leigh Furr Colson of the home; two sons, John Marvin Colson, Jr. of Norwood and Michael Glenn Colson of Albemarle; a daughter, Barbara Ann Colson of Albemarle; two sisters, Mary Jean Mauldin and Jane Cauble, both of Norwood; and two brothers, Jerry Colson and J.W. Colson, both of Norwood. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Colson family.
