John Deaton

John Pearson Deaton, Jr., 76 years of age, of Mount Gilead, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.

Mr. Deaton was born February 7, 1941 to the late John Pearson and Nell Myers Deaton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Judy Deaton Williams. John served nine years in the United States Air Force. He will be most remembered for his love of the water, whether it be at the beach or the lake.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home- Midland, 13575 Broadway Avenue, Midland, NC.

Survivors include: wife, Patricia Ann Deaton; sons, Michael (Terri) Deaton, Mark (Ivy) Deaton, Brian (Jennifer) Deaton; daughter, Lisa (Joey Ebert) Putnan; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren
