Master Sergeant John Bryant Fisher, Jr. 44 years of age, of Concord, NC passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017.
He was born August 19, 1972 in Gainesville, FL to John Bryant Fisher Sr. and Loretta Fisher.
John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and later in the United States Army as a Green Beret. He was a Special Forces Medic as well. During his service he received the Army Commendation Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, Special Forces Tab, Master Parachutist Badge and the Combat Diver Badge. In his spare time, John loved to scuba dive and was also a certified boat captain. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Saturday, July 8, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord officiated by Chaplain Doug Windley. Full military honors will be provided at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis immediately following the funeral service.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Alice Fisher of Concord, NC; daughters Kiah Janee Fisher and Shamira Araceli; son John Bryant Fisher, III; parents Loretta Fisher and John Bryant Fisher, Sr.; sisters Dawn Diane Gregory and Starr Machele Jones & family; as well as his German shepherd Bella Fisher.
