John Richard Gray

John Richard Gray, 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Friday, January 5, 2024.

Born on March 11, 1942, to the late Richard Joseph Gray and late Marguerite Agnes Gray of Detroit, Michigan.

John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice Gray; daughters, Kristen (Brian) Mitchell and Karen Karpey; grandchildren, Clay Mitchell and Willow, Connor and Jillian Karpey; sister, Lynda (Clifford) Alan; three sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by both family and friends.  A graduate of Redford High School in 1959, Western Michigan University in 1963 (BA) and University of Detroit in 1971 (MBA). After working many years in the automotive industry, John retired from GM in 2003.

A Memorial service for John will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00 am at The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City Michigan.
