John Hahn

John Calvin Hahn, Sr., age 87, of Albemarle, passed away on April 22, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Stoney Benfield and Rev. Kent Williams, will be held at Prospect Baptist Church on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 4:00pm. He will lie in a 30 minutes state prior to the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his home. J.C. was born on November 5, 1925, to the late John Hahn and the late Emma P. Hahn. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Lorena Lowder; a grandson, Mickey Andrew Hahn, and Baby Cord. Mr. Hahn is survived by his loving wife of 63 years; Betty Morris Hahn; three sons, John Calvin Hahn, Jr.and Debbie of New London, Terry Hahn and wife Sandra of New London, and Ken Hahn and wife Joan of New London; two daughters, Karen Hahn Smith and husband Steve of Norwood, and Amy Hahn Cord and husband John of New London; thirteen grandchildren, Andrew Smith and wife Janene, Kelly Hahn Hainline and husband Brett, Thomas Hahn and wife Caris, Samuel Smith and wife Ashley, Martha Hahn, David Hahn and wife Michelle, Christy Hahn Carter and husband Aaron, Kayte Hahn, Garrett Smith, Austin Smith, Tate Cord, Addison Cord, and Malachi Cord; five great grandchildren, Hailey Smith, Aaron Smith, Hudson Carter and great granddaughters to be Baby Hahn and Baby Carter. He served in the US Army Air Force during WWII.
