John Holden, Jr

John Wesley (June) Holden Jr., 61 years of age, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Carolina's Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

John was born November 28, 1954 in Utica, Mississippi to John Wesley Holden Sr. and Ida Lee Holden. He was the widower of Mary Charlotte Williams and his father, John Wesley (J.W.) Holden, Sr. preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2016, 12:00 pm at St. Paul's AME Church in Little River, SC officiated by Rev. Johnathan Greene Sr. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at the church cemetery.

Survivors include his son, Bryce Wesley Holden; daughter, Sharae Classie Holden of Concord; mother, Ida Lee Holden of Vicksburg, MS; brothers, Roland Holden of Oakland City, CA, Leon Holden of Vicksburg, MS, Henry James Holden of Frankfurt, Germany; sisters, Ida Mae Russell of Vicksburg, MS, Classie Holden of Vicksburg, MS, Katie Marie Smith of Arlington, TX, Gladys Smith of Vicksburg, MS; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

John was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was the caretaker at the National Cemetery in Salisbury N.C.
