John Thomas Huneycutt, 86, of Concord, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast in Concord. Mr. Huneycutt was born March 23, 1926 in Stanly County to the late Seymour and Pearl Goodman Huneycutt. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Junior, James Tyler and Dulin and also a step-son, Ronald Max Basinger. A memorial service will be held at Indian Hill Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 3 pm, with Rev. Rick Brundin officiating. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Marie Little Basinger Huneycutt of the home; brother, Douglas Huneycutt; step-daughter-in-law, Terry Basinger of FL; step-grandchildren, Brian Basinger of GA and Michael Basinger of CA; special niece and caregiver, Carol Huneycutt Goodman; several other nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Indian Hill Presbyterian Church, 8349 NC Hwy. 200, Stanfield, NC 28163 or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Huneycutt family.
