John Currie Rowden II, 23 years of age, of Concord, NC passed away February 25, 2017 at his home.

John was born April 26, 1993 in Charlotte, NC to John Currie Rowden and Angela Barbee Rowden. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandmother Frances Mullis and his maternal great-grandfather John Barbee.

Survivors include his parents John Currie Rowden and Angie Barbee Rowden; brothers Benjamin, Rhyne and Elijah; sisters Allison, Rachel and Anna; special niece Kylie Rowden; paternal grandparents John and Connie Rowden; maternal grandmother Louise Barbee; maternal grandparents Bob and Alice Barbee; uncle Devin Barbee and wife Heidi; uncles Chuck and Chip Rowden; aunt Betsy Carroll and husband Darrell; special cousins James and Debbi Overstreet (Andrew and Tyler); as well as cousins Kyle, Jennifer, Kasey and Jake Rowden; Levi Carroll, Wesley and Elizabeth Barbee.

John played JV and Varsity football at J.M. Robinson High School and graduated in 2012. He loved to write letters of encouragement to friends and family that always included a scripture verse. John loved reading his Bible, and was a lifetime member of Parkwood Baptist Church, where he was baptized by Pastor Darrell Coble in 2007. John truly enjoyed life and loved his family dearly.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Parkwood Baptist Church in Concord. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Michael Waters. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkwood Baptist Church Upward Sports Program.
