John "Johnny" Anthony Stelmack

John "Johnny" Anthony Stelmack, 81, of Concord, NC, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Johnny was born September 14, 1942 in Newark Valley, NY to the late John E. Stelmack and the late Olga Wolowitz Stelmack.  

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carole Valentine Stelmack; son, John Vernon Stelmack and wife Jennifer; daughter, Susan Marie Cote and husband Ivan; daughter, Tami Lynn Jordan and husband Kevin; daughter, Christi Jo Powell and husband Kenny; granddaughter, Rachael Koroluck and husband Nicholas; granddaughter, Morgan Pepper and husband Justin; granddaughter, Lauren Beaver and husband Michael; grandson, John Stelmack and husband Dustin; granddaughter, Brooke Colombero and husband Demetrius; granddaughter, Kamryn Powell; grandson, Nicholas Stelmack; grandson, Austin Powell; granddaughter, Jordyn "Lolli" Powell; great-grandson, Gunnar Koroluck; great-grandson, Oaklyn Pepper; great-grandson, Crew Pepper; and great-grandson, Bodhi Colombero.

Johnny's biggest passion in life was his family.  He worked at IBM and also owned Stelmack Electric, being the ultimate provider.  For years, he built the four kids microds and the engines, allowing for countless feature wins and NY state championships.  Along with his love of racing, he always had a collection of old cars.  From his 1956 Chevy to his red SSR, he was always riding in style.  His kind demeanor, quite ways, incredible work ethic and drive to be the best husband and most outstanding dad has allowed all of his children and grandchildren to work hard and set their sights on success and to be the people they are today.  He may be gone in presence, but will live on forever in the hearts of his family.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 2nd at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, 460 Branchview Dr., Concord, NC 28025, officiated by Rev. Don Burleyson.
