John Stuart Lynn Sr., 82, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at his home.

Born February 19, 1943 into a career military family. He attended elementary/middle/high school in military towns in Germany and graduated from Frankfurt American High School in Frankfurt, Germany in 1960. He attended David Lipscomb College and University of Tennessee, both in Tennessee. 

Preceded in death by his parents, John Smart Lynn and Ruby Massey (Connatser) Lynn, his wife Jean (Griswold) Lynn, and his brother, Richard Bruce Lynn, who were there to welcome him to eternal life. 

Survived by his three children - John Lynn Jr. (Kim), Laura (Fabby) Williams and their children Tayler, Charles, and Fabby, Jr., Luke (Stephanie) Lynn and their child, Ruby; and Jean’s children - Beth (Alan) Campbell, Rob Griswold, Jack (Heather) Griswold, Jon (Jen) Griswold; and Jean’s six grandchildren - Madeline and Emma Campbell, Mick and Zach Griswold, Jonathan and Shayla Griswold.

In addition to his family, his passions included biblical archeology, including the Shroud of Turin, politics, robotics, travel, cruising, scuba diving, sky diving, flying, and real estate.

 John was enlisted in the Army from 1963-1965, serving in multiple locations around the country and had the exciting opportunity to participate as an aerospace engineer at NASA before founding his own robotics company, Lynn Electronics. 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm in the Chapel at Trevi Senior Living, 11230 Trevi Village Blvd, Charlotte NC 28262.
