John "Pat" Patrick Mills, 85 years of age, of Charlotte, NC passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017.
Pat was born September 13, 1931 as the oldest of the four children of the late Hoyle B. and the late Dora Lee (Adams) Mills.
He left school in the 9th grade to become an apprentice electrician, but then changed careers and became one of the best pressman in the Charlotte area. Eventually he opened his own printing business, Dixie Duplicating, where he worked for many years. He was always willing to talk and visit as much as he'd print. His last job, one he dearly loved, was as a courier for Perry's Jewelry. Nothing brought him any more joy than hitting the open road to see what he could see. In his later years gardening and baking became special hobbies, and even later on he enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and bingo.
He is survived by one brother, Charles D. "Bugs" Mills and his wife Ann; his only child John P. Mills, Jr. and his wife Jackie; four much loved grandchildren and their spouses; and three boisterous great grandchildren to whom he was affectionately known as "Super G". A fourth great grandchild preceded him, as did a brother and a sister. As per Pat's adamant wishes, there will be no public services.
