John Alexander Morrison, 93, of Concord, passed away Monday, October 17, 2011, in Carolinas Medical Center of Concord. Mr. Morrison was born July 14, 1918, in Cabarrus County to the late Mason McKnight Morrison and Lelia Alexander Morrison. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Leugenia Little Morrison. He was a member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church of Concord and a WW II veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was a member of American Legion Post 51, a Cub Scout Master for 33 years, and he received the Bishops Award of Excellence in Scouting for 21 straight years. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 pm Tuesday 10/18 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. A funeral service will be held at Cold Springs UMC on Wednesday at 4:00 pm officiated by Dr. Neil Haynes. It will be preceded by one hour state. Graveside military rites will be presented by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. Survivors include his step-daughter, Jean Wray Parker of Richfield; brother, William Morrison of Davidson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
