John Morrow

John McKnight Morrow, 92 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Spring Arbor of Albemarle in Albemarle.
John was born July 6, 1925 to the late William Henry "Doc" Morrow and the late Minnie Estelle Efird Morrow.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary "Ticka" Senter Morrow, in 2009 and his sister, Jane Morrow Rogers and his brother William H. Morrow Jr.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday at 2:00 pm at First Lutheran Church, Albemarle officiated by Pastor Louise Hilbert. Burial will follow with full military honors at Fairview Memorial Park at 1425 East Main Street, Albemarle.
Survivors include son, John "Mac" McKnight (Sharon) Morrow, Jr. of Summerfield, NC; son, Michael Senter (Jill) Morrow of Southport; Zachary (Carrie), John M. III, Spencer, Alexander (Jana), Eli, and Jeremiah (Clair) Morrow; and four great grandchildren.
A WWII veteran of the US Army Air Corps, he was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church, was employed by Wiscassett Mills for 42 years, and was owner and operator of Albemarle Knitting.
