John Rogers

John Lavell Rogers, 78 of 25753 Austin Road, Albemarle, NC, passed away on August 29, 2011 at Hospice of Wake County, Raleigh, NC. The funeral service will be Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11am, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Clinton Efird. The family will receive friends following the service. Mr. Rogers was born in Wake County on November 11, 1932, to the late James Baxter Rogers and the late Ada Tutor Rogers. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Inez Frances Pierce Rogers. He is survived by a son, Bradley Rogers of Albemarle; daughter, Mary Frances Privett of Albemarle; and grandson, Ronald Lavell Privett of Albemarle. Mr. Rogers was employed as a diesel mechanic with Bowman Transportation in Charlotte, NC. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 7 years. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Rogers family.
