John Shaver

John Ray Shaver, Age 73 of 28029 McSwain Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001, passed away on October 01, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Born in Rowan County on June 04, 1936. John Ray Shaver was preceded in death by his mother Ada B. Vanhoy Shaver , father, John Burlie Shaver. his son Steven Ray Shaver , his sisters Ruth and Helen , his brothers Kenneth, Harry, Guy Shaver. He was a truck driver with Southeastern Freight Lines Charlotte. He was a member of Canton Baptist Church in Albemarle. He enjoyed gospel music. He enjoyed competing in truck rodeos. He loved his family, riding his lawn mower, gardening and cultivating roses. The family will meet at the home. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 6 PM 08 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle. Funeral service will held on Sunday,October 04, 2009 at 2 PM at Canton Baptist. Church, with a 30 minute state. Rev. Mark Mabry, Rev. Farrell Shimpock, Rev. Kenneth Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Canton Baptist Church John Ray Shaver was survived by his wife, Betty Marie Morton Shaver of Albemarle NC, his son Lynn Shaver of Plyler NC, his grandchildren Jeremy Shaver and wife. Kim of Richfield NC, Eric Shaver of Landis NC, his Great Grandchildren Lucas and Charles Shaver of Richfield NC, daughter in law-Doris W. Shaver of Albemarle. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and friends and family in the church community.
