John Walsh

John Richard "Jack" Walsh, 71 years of age, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Mr. Walsh born January 9, 1943 in Boston, Mass., a beloved son to the late Samual and Margaret Walsh. He moved to Charlotte in 1957. John graduated from Garringer High School and joined the US Air Force in 1961, stationed in Florida, Texas, and 2 years in Japan. After returning from the service, he went to Belmont College and graduated with honors with a degree in Business/Economics in 1970. He then was employed with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, and worked in the Claims Department as an adjuster, supervisor, and Team Claims Manager. He worked there for 29 years, and retired at age 56, and enjoyed 15 years of retirement. He loved to fish, garden, cook, and make furniture, the beach, and spend time with family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held for Jack on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 2 pm at United Love Baptist Church, 11487 Flowe's Store Road, Midland, NC with Rev. Marvin Tyson officiating. Visitaion will follow the Memorial Service in the church sanctuary.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marguerite Walsh, son; Richard and wife Linda, sisters; Hazel Comer of Gray, GA, and Mary Jane DeLeeuw and husband John of Virginia Beach, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Love Baptist Church at 11487 Flowe's Store Road, Midland, NC 28107.
