John White, Jr

John Samuel White, Jr., 80 years of age, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at CMC-Union. John was born February 24, 1933 in Raleigh, NC to the late John Samuel White, Sr. and the late Virginia Gertrude Dismuke White. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Michelle White; and sister, Virginia Moon White. The family will have a private graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Ann King White of Monroe; son, John Robert White and fiancée Kimberly Martin of Monroe; and grandson, Cory Broome of Monroe. John worked for the Charlotte Observer for over 25 years. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3816 Morgan Mill Rd., Monroe, NC 28110.
