John was born January 15, 1979 in Greensboro, NC to John M. Wooten and Janet B. Wooten. John went to be with The Lord on January 15, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John C. and Martha A. Wooten of Statesville, NC and Millard I. and Mattie M. Benfield of Hickory, NC.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 29, 2022 at Bethel Church of Midland, 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland, NC 28107. The family will receive friends and family following the service. Pastor Jeremy Brackett will officiate the service. The service will be streamed on Bethel Midland Facebook page for those who cannot attend.
John is survived by his wife, Melinda A. Wooten and daughter MaryJane E. Wooten, both of Winston-Salem, NC; his father, John M. Wooten and Donna A. Soro of Mt Pleasant, NC; his mother, Janet B. Wooten of Locust, NC; his brother, Timothy M. and Christine A. Wooten of Locust, NC; his nephews, Jaxon M. and Deacon C. Wooten also of Locust, NC.
John was a lover of music; he enjoyed mixing tracks and had a wonderful creative talent. He was a wonderful father who cared deeply for his daughter. He was employed by AT&T in Winston-Salem, NC and was well regarded by his colleagues. John was a graduate of Central Cabarrus High School Concord, NC. He furthered his education at Central Piedmont Community College Charlotte, NC.
