John Houston Yow, Jr.

John Houston Yow Jr., 82, of Stanfield, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.

John was born March 16, 1941 in North Carolina to the late John Houston Yow and the late Attie Mae. 
He was also preceded in death by son, Ricky Lynn; daughter, Tammy Elaine; brothers, Gene and Harvey Yow; and sister-in-law, Diane Yow.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm, Friday, October 27, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 1pm after the visitation, officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Rushing. Burial will follow at Love's Grove Methodist Church Cemetery located at 4360 Polk Ford Rd., Stanfield.

Junior went on to be with the Lord on October 21. He was a wonderful husband, father, and Paw Paw. He loved his children. That's all he ever talked about, them playing ball and how much he loved them. He was married to his wife Sandra Ledbetter Yow for 62 years.  Junior loved fishing and watching ball games. He was an electrician for 50 years and worked for Stanly County Waste part-time for 7 years. Junior loved to talk to people and hardly ever met a stranger. He will be missed, but he was a man who loved and served the Lord and is now with his Lord and Savior.

Survivors include wife, Sandra Yow; son, Johnny (Bethany) Yow; daughter, Ginger Furr; grandchildren, Kohen, Dalton, Tallon, Emmett, Case, Hendrix, and Harlen; sisters, Nancy (Bobby) Tucker and Janie (Terry) Burleson; brothers, Glenn (Jo Ann) Yow and Steven Yow; sister-in-law, Nancy Yow; and sister-in-law, Barbara Yow.
