Johnnie Furr

Johnnie Brown Furr, 85 years of age, of Concord, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at Tucker Hospice House of Kannapolis.

Johnnie was born March 29, 1932 in Stanly County to the late Albert Farranton Furr and the late Sarah Eudy Furr. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home Harrisburg. A second visitation will be at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg on Thursday from 11:30am to 12:30pm and will be followed by a graveside service at 1:00pm at Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg and will be officiated by Rev. Beau Linker.

Survivors include wife of 60 years, Julia Lowder Furr of Concord; son, Jeff (Lisa) Furr of Richfield; daughter, Jacquie Fisher of Lincolnton; daughter, Joellyn (Kenneth) Padgett of Concord; six grandchildren Tiffanie Furr, Jessica Morgan, Jake Fisher, Julianne Fisher, Katellyn Padgett, "John" Trevor Padgett; great-granddaughter, Kynadee Furr; and great-grandson, Bevin "Cash" Morgan.

Throughout Johnnie's life he served his country and community. Johnnie served faithfully in the church, the US Navy, and as a scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts. He worked many years with Western Southern and Harrisburg Florist, touching many lives with a smile and song. Johnnie's favorite thing to do was to call friends and family on their birthday to sing to them. He will be missed by all.
