Johnnie Clifford“Cliff”“J.C.” Helms, age 89 of 421 E. Third St, Oakboro, NC, passed away on August 10, 2010 at Lutheran Home of Albemarle. Born in Stanly County on June 2, 1921. He was owner and operator of Cliff’s Meats. Johnnie Clifford Helms was preceded in death by his mother Arlie Morton Helms and father, William Henery Helms, son Ronnie Helms and brother William Columbus Helms. Visitation will be Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. Funeral service will held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11 am at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle. Rev Dr. Terrell Watts and Chip Alsobrooks to officiate. Burial to follow at Oakboro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: First Baptist Church of Oakboro Building Fund, 322 N. Main St. Oakboro, NC 28129. The family will meet at the home. Mr.Helms is survived by his wife, Lula B. Broadway Helms (married 69 years )of the home, his daughter Shelbie Helms Davis and husband Jim of Oakboro NC, son Neddie Helms and wife Pat of Oakboro NC, his sister Ruth Helms Hinson of Oakboro NC, grandchildren, Stephanie Helms Williams, Crystal Helms Thompson, Karen Davis Little, Joe Davis, John Davis and Wendy Helms Hinshaw, and 9 great grandchildren, one daughter in law, Eva Helms.
